Today I have received by mail a video of a really impressive: It's "El Caminito del Rey", a step built into the gorge of Gaitanes in El Chorro (Málaga). This walkway is 3 km long, barely 1m wide and is hung at 100 feet above the bed of the river Guadalhorce, attached to walls nearly vertical.

The reason for its construction was the need I had the Hydroelectric Company Jet to join this leap of Gaitanejo, to facilitate the transition of maintenance workers, so they began construction in 1901. It is known as the Caminito del Rey, because in 1921 Alfonso XIII crossed to open the dam of El Conde de Guadalhorce.

But the passage of time and neglect were taking their toll on the road, and because of the constant crashes hikers trying to cross, a black legend was created around him. In 1999 and 2000 killed 4 hikers in separate accidents, so that the Board of Andalusia decided to close the public by eliminating the first installment. Anyone traveling on the said road or rails that reach it, is liable to a fine of 6000 €. Still, during this time, hikers have ignored the bans and have continued to risk his life.

According to the opinion of Malaga, in January this year went to tender the project for its restoration, which will make it possible to visit this amazing place with better security, but you know, some what attracts them is the danger and the curiosity of forbidden.

I recommend you see the video, is really impressive and not suitable for those suffering from vertigo. I make your hair stand on end:
