Definitely one of the greatest pleasures that we have when we visit Madrid is tapas, but also do it in a glass and iron structure built in 1916 (somewhat reminiscent of the famous Eiffel Tower in Paris ) and home to one of the few covered markets in the city, greatly improves the experience. The Mercado de San Miguel is located on the square of the same name, in one of the most emblematic areas of Madrid and more tourists.

But ...

How a market cap?

Yes, as the name suggests, the Mercado de San Miguel "was" and "is" a market, but also the distinction of being an entertainment area where you can buy the food that we tasted in any of the 33 "seats" sales and take her to the area enabled to eat.

According to the promoters of the project, the building had long been closed and was to become a mall, but that they had always known the beauty market, did not want to disappear, so they decided to restore and modernize it. The "new" San Miguel market was opened two years ago and has become a meeting place that despite having a modern and cosmopolitan, it retains all the charm of yesterday.
