Definitely one of the greatest pleasures we can have when visiting Madrid, is tapas, but also do it in a glass and iron structure built in 1916 (somewhat reminiscent of the famous Eiffel Tower in Paris ) and home to one of the few covered markets in the city, greatly improves the experience. The Mercado de San Miguel is located on the square of the same name in one of the most emblematic areas of Madrid and with greater influx of tourists.

Gone are the days when the Emperor Charles was well aware of succulents and monastic recipes using cod in the shelter of the monastery of Yuste.

Fish were brought from the Bay of Biscay, perhaps by the ancient Via de la Plata and stored in ice wells for the joy of the emperor. The cod has become more popular beyond the typical dishes of Lent and today is a very important part of the gastronomy of Extremadura.

From the website of the Vía de la Plata route, we invite you to participate in a culinary competition flavored cod, whose winner will enjoy a fantastic basket where you can taste the traditional flavors of the route.

The requirements to participate are:

- The main ingredient of the dish should be cod.

- We detail the development of the plate.
- Are valued picture accompanying the recipe and / or video
- You are encouraged to send a brief additional information on the plate in question or the type of food (stories, legends, information on the cuisine of the area, etc.).
- Must be easy to prepare recipes at home with ingredients available.

Spain, Greece, Italy and Morocco are in anhorabuena as Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, meeting in Nairobi (Kenya) said the "Mediterranean Diet" Intangible Heritage of Humanity. These countries presented through the Mediterranean Diet Foundation based in Barcelona a joint bid has been approved.
