The International Descent of the Sella river in Asturias formerly known as Fiesta de les canoeing is a tradition that began in 1929 thanks to the adventurous spirit of Mr. Dionisio de la Huerta and was the first feast of festive Spanish-sport to be declared "International Tourist Interest."

74 International Descent of the River Sella 2010 will be held on 7 August between Arriondas and Ribadesella bridge, with a total distance of 20 km.

The competition, organized by the Spanish Canoe Federation, is a competition open to the participation of Spanish and foreign paddlers. According to information obtained in the event's website, the only condition is to be in possession of the license for competition this year with an age of 60 days.

But if we have no such license and we want to make the descent of the Sella io r the same day of the famous sporting event, I found a website that provides for 30 € to decline the day after the competition, with the advantage you can watch the race from the pier of the company.
